Mill Road, Shabbington – 10 week road closure

Temporary Traffic Regulation Order – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Location:

Tiddington with Albury Parish – Shabbington, Mill Road and Footpath 232/27/10 (click here for map)

1) Temporary Road Closure – Mill Road (with diversion)

2) Temporary Footpath Closure – 232/27/10 (no alternative route possible)

NOTE: Because of the nature of the works, there will be NO access or through route available on the closed section of Mill Road for emergency vehicles or other traffic.

In the interests of public safety it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to close both the road and footpath as detailed above to facilitate bridge replacement works.

From 19 September 2016 for 10 weeks

Two orders are being introduced because of bridge replacement works which are anticipated to take 10 weeks to complete.

The effect of the Order (which was originally planned to start on 22 August) is to temporarily close:

(1) Mill Road, Shabbington from the County Boundary near The Old Fisherman Public House south-eastwards to the junction with the A418.

The alternative route for traffic is via the A418 North Weston to Thame, B4011 to Long Crendon and Long Crendon Road to Shabbington and vice versa.

(2) Also to close a short section of the northern end of Footpath 232/27/10 where it meets Mill Road. There is no alternative route.
