Proposed Oxford to Cambridge Expressway

We have recently been made aware that the route of the new Oxford to Cambridge Expressway is currently being discussed, and one of the proposed routes could have a huge impact on Ickford and other surrounding villages.

As you will see from this map, Route Option A will closely track the existing A418 (the road that runs from J8A to Thame). The exact location of the proposed road is very vague, but is likely to be within 2 miles of our village. An Expressway Action Group has been set up, and they are asking for residents of the local villages who will be affected by this proposal to join the campaign against this proposed route by writing/emailing their concerns to the decision makers of this project.

The National Infrastructure Commission are discussing this project right now, and intend to publish their final report on the Expressway in October. This means that emails and letters should be sent as soon as possible to be seen in time. The Expressway Action Group have prepared a list of addresses to write to, as well as a list of suggestion points for expressing your concerns, please click here to view this document.

In addition to these contacts, you can also contact your Aylesbury Vale District Councillor Michael Rand: and your County Councillor Clive Harriss: to express your views.
